New Year's

We celebrated New Year's this year with our friends Katherine and Ben Hansen. They were in town visiting from New Mexico and they made our New Year's much more enjoyable! We celebrated Madie's birthday with them and watched the ball fall in New York and called it a night! Thanks Hansens! It was great to see you again.

It was a good thing we went to bed early the night because we decided to join our friends Liz and David Krider at their house for breakfast the next day. It was Liz's birthday and a bunch of friends from church were there. HOWEVER, we live NORTH of the Rose Bowl Parade route and they are SOUTH of the route. It was a challenge getting there, but well worth it! Dave cooks a mean french toast!! Thanks Kriders!

We all walked up to check out the parade after breakfast. We hadn't planned on going because we're not big on crazy, moblike crowds! It ended up being quite fun and Charley loved yelling, "Happy New Year" or "New Ear" to everyone that waved from the floats!

Charley's favorites:

My favorite: from the city of Huntington Beach. The surfboard moved up and down. It was great!

Happy New Year!

You guys have been busy. It looks like you really enjoyed the holidays. And how cool that you got to hang out with the Hansens. Ben defends next week, right? Thanks for sharing so many great pictures! Madie's cake turned out very cute.

How fun that you got to spend the holidays with the Hansens. Tell them hi for us. Their kids are so big!

oh, that brings back memories of when we were kids. one year we went to the parade and spent the night new year's eve sleeping on the pavement. so much fun! of course, i would never do that these days with young children, but back then we could do things like that!

hey, is that a double jogging stroller? i am looking for one, but don't know what the best brands are! any advice?? email me if you can help shed some light on my jogging stroller quest!!

I love that you got pictures of the Sesame gang at the parade. That was definitely the highlight for our little family.
